East London Runners’ men’s team are now tied at the top of the table after their fourth ELVIS series race.

Along with Ilford, both teams are ahead of third-placed East End Road Runners by seven points.

The latest event, which took place at Ilford AC, saw Patrick Brown come home the fastest for the men in fifth with a time of 29.29.

Next best placed was Daniel Lee who crossed the line in 31.13 finishing 11th out of all who ran.

However, two of the club’s athletes clocked personal bests as Aaron Browne finished the five-mile run in 31.24 and John Booth in 32.00.

The women created a better feat as they increased their gap ahead of second-placed East End Road Runners by nine points.

Ava Lee came home first as she celebrated her 34th birthday in a time of 34.14, while Eleanor Wilkinson clocked 37.52 and Natasha Tweedie finished 84th with 39.03.

Elsewhere, the running club took part in The Great Team Relay at the Olympic Park where they finished eighth overall.

Four teams took part in a challenge consisting of 4 x 5k relay races.

Scott McMillian achieved a landmark as he completed in his 250th park run, finishing ninth in 19.09.

At the Great Newham London Run, Thomas Grimes was first back for the club as he finished 12th in 35.19 with a large number of East London competitors taking part.

Next back was Mark Boulton as he crossed the line in 36.07 and then Browne was third home for the club, finishing 46th with a time of 38.10.
