Antonio Martín Romero clocked a championship qualifying time and a personal best as he led a field of 27 East London Runners home at the London Marathon.
He finished Sunday’s race in 414th place overall in a time of two hours, 42 minutes and 37 seconds. He had 38,631 finishers behind him and just one per cent of the field ahead of him.
Mark Boulton was the second East London Runner home as he completed the course in a time of 2.45.51.
They were among five runners from the club who dipped below the three-hour barrier - Paul Quinton (2.54.35), Dan Slipper (2.59.07) and Manjit Bedi (2.59.25) also achieved the feat.
Saheb Yousefi (3.21.04) and Jonathan Wooldridge (3.21.52) completed their second capital city marathon in the space of three weeks following their runs in the Paris Marathon.
