Old Loughtonians beat local rivals Wapping 1-0 on Saturday to remain top of the East League Premier Division A.

Loughts have a single point’s advantage over second placed St Albans and the same buffer between themselves and Wapping in third.

Both sides had chances prior to half time without making the breakthrough. Hosts Loughts looked dangerous on the break in the second half and went in front when Aleix Roset converted a penalty.

Old Loughtonians ladies drew 2-2 with Broxbourne.

Meanwhile, Wapping Ladies go into the Christmas break ten points clear atop Division One South after a 1-0 win over Canterbury Seconds.

Kate Radford got the game’s only goal.

In Division Two South, Crostyx thumped West Herts 6-4 in an end-to-end match.

Matt Rowland scored four with Phil Walker and Christian Hall also on target.
