West Ham United defender Winston Reid believes new signing Alex Song will be a “big player” for the Hammers following his season-long loan move from Barcelona.
Song, who left the Catalan club on Saturday, became West Ham’s eighth summer signing and Reid believes he’ll be a great addition to the squad.
Reid told the club's site: “He’s going to be a big player us, he’s proven himself at Arsenal and Barcelona and it’s good that he’s here.
“The club has done a massive job to get him here. I’m looking forward to working with him."
The former Arsenal midfielder joined Barcelona for £15m in 2012 but made just 29 La Liga starts in two season at the Camp Nou.
A strong, powerful, holding midfielder, Song was introduced the Hammers' fans prior to Saturday's 3-1 loss to Southampton at Upton Park, hours after completing his return to the Premier League.
