Woodford Green with Essex Ladies' Shana Cox missed out on a place in the Commonwealth Games 400m women's final despite running two season's bests in qualifying.
The top two from yesterday's three semi-finals secured a place in tonight's final plus the next two next fastest runners.
Cox's time of 52.57 was her best of the campaign but it was also almost a second slower than second-placed Shaunae Miller in semi final two.
The two other final places did go to the third and fourth placed runners in Cox' race but the 29-year-old was 12th fastest in her event overall.
Cox, who grew up in New York but was competing for England, also ran a season's best of 53 seconds in her heat on Sunday.
She is scheduled to race again in the 4x400m, with qualifying on Friday and the final on Saturday.
