2:25pm Thursday 20th September 2012

HUNDREDS of cannabis plants and a gun were seized in a police raid today.
The 250 plants and revolver were discovered at a cannabis factory in Chingford by Met police today (September 20) as part of a London-wide crackdown on drugs, called Operation Hawk.
Another early morning raid in Leyton uncovered a second cannabis factory, while a third was also found in Waltham Forest by officers this morning.
More than 550 cannabis plants were seized across the borough, while four people were arrested.
Three were arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis and another on suspicion of cultivating the drugs as well as possessing Class A and B drugs.
More details of the addresses of the factories and the ages of those arrested are expected tomorrow.
So far the operation has resulted in 150 arrests and the seizure of 1,854 cannabis plants across the capital.
