A THEATRE company will step off of the stage and onto the street for a series of live interactive performances.

This Saturday (July 23), performers will gather in Albert Crescent in Chingford to present The Film of Life for their series of Street Theatre Saturdays.

The group will also show up at the junction between Harrow Green and Leytonstone High Road during the cinematic tour.

Slap Haddock productions is returning since they arrived on an original Routemaster bus to delight patients in Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone during Dementia Awareness Week in May.

This time, a trio of 1950s cinema ushers will celebrate the area’s film heritage which once stretched from Chingford to Leytonstone.

The group has chosen south Chingford for its once proud Odeon Cinema and Leytonstone for its Rex Cinema which closed in 1960.

Admission is free and show times are 11.30am in Leytonstone with Chingford getting two shows at 2pm and 3pm.

The troupe will repeat the tour in the same locations on Saturday, August 6, with an 11.30am slot in Chingford and at 2pm and 3pm in Leytonstone.
