School pupils ran, swam and cycled to raise money for new sport equipment last week.

At Lambourne Primary School in Hoe Lane, Abridge, pupils took part in the sponsored mini-triathlon on Wednesday (June 22).

Children swam for half an hour followed by a 20 minute cycle and a 10 minute run.

Donations from parents have so far reached £2,000, with the money going towards new wooden equipment.

The day was also about celebrating the school’s new 12m swimming pool.

“We are pleased with the pool, it is an excellent facility,” said head teacher Sarah Noden.

“We are very lucky to have it and the children really, really enjoyed it.

“They loved bringing their bikes and scooters in and they love swimming as well.

“It was a good way to show off how they have all improved.”
