BABIES and newly-wed couples can now make their good news official faster, after the council introduced new online services.

People who want to register births, deaths and marriages in Redbridge can now book appointments to do so online via the council website.

The new online services come as Redbridge Council pushes to save more money by going digital with its most-used facilities including council tax, housing benefits and recycling.

Cabinet member for finance and resources Cllr Kam Rai said: “These new registrar services are the first in a number of fresh new online services that we will be bringing to our website over the coming months.

“Making it easier to access our services online is not only good for our residents but also saves the council money.”

People who do not have access to a computer can still register over the phone.
