Children dressed up as endangered species today (October 9) to raise money to adopt a zoo animal.
Year 3 pupils donated 50p each for the chance to be a zebra, lion or leopard for the day at Wanstead Church School, in High Street, Wanstead.
They are currently being taught a topic on environmental issues, such as loss of habitats, pollution, hunting and conservation.
A recent visit to Colchester Zoo inspired the fundraising event to adopt an animal there.
A cake sale was also held after school finished.
