A burst main on a busy road has left homes without water this morning.
Thames Water has said engineers will be on-site shortly to fix the pipe at the junction with Chigwell Road and Wansford Road in Woodford Bridge.
The water company issued a warning at shortly before 8am to say homes in the IG8 and E18 postcode area were without water or were experiencing low pressure as a result.
A spokeswoman said: "We are sorry to those affected by this burst. We’ve got a team in the area and will be working to get it fixed as quickly as we can.
"Some properties, especially flats, may still be experiencing low pressure but everyone has their supply back on."
The burst main is directly next to an allotment site and water can be seen flowing into it, potentially flooding the pitches.
Pavements surrounding the junction are flooded. Works to repair the main is likely to result in temporary traffic lights and congestion in the area.
