The warden of Forest School has announced her intention to step down next year.

Sarah Kerr-Dineen told parents this week that she is to leave the school in College Place, on the border between Walthamstow and Snaresbrook, to take up the role of headteacher at Oundle School in Peterborough.

Antony Faccinello has been chosen as her predecessor of the independent school.

Mr Faccinello, 48 is married with two children, and originally from Manchester.

He has an MA in English Language and Literature from Oxford University and has worked as a teacher for over 23 years.

He is currently senior deputy head of Alleyn’s School in Dulwich and was head of English at the Royal Grammar School in Guildford for eight years.

John Matthews, chair of governors, said: “In Antony Faccinello we believe we have found an outstanding person with an excellent track record who will raise further Forest’s high academic standards.

“He is someone who understands exactly how much more a school like Forest offers to parents and pupils.”
